Blue Andalusian
We raise the blue and splash variety of Blue Andalusian, although the splash variety is not recognized. The Andalusian originated in Andalusia, a providence of Spain. The blue gene in the Blue Andalusian, like other blue birds, will not produce 100% blue birds. About 50% of the chicks hatched will be blue while the other 50% will be black or splash. The ideal plumage color of these birds is a lighter shade of blue with darker blue lacing. The Blue Andalusian is a rather rare breed and is a member of the Mediterranean class, although they are one of the more quiet breeds of that class. Blue Andalusians lay white eggs.
